Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

OMG . . . Denise, at Riverside Stitching, left me a message that she honored me with the Liebster  Blog Award.

If you aren't familiar with the Liebster, which means 'favorite' in German, it is a way for bloggers to help each other out by spreading the word about their blogs.

I am honored to be given this award by a Cross Stitcher.  (I met Denise through the 1oo Blessings Cross Stitch Challenge. I think Denise is the only one who finished all 100 blessings . . . I so need to  get back on mine . . I am SO CLOSE to being finished. Just need to find time again.) Denise is my "goddess" when it comes to cross stitch. Her work is gorgeous.

I am doubly honored that it is an award named in German . . the language of a large branch of my family tree. (I have a maternal great  grandfather who spoke German with his sister when they didn't want others to know what they were speaking.)

As part of the Liebster tradition it is passed along to 5 bloggers that have motivated and inspired you. To accept the award you must -
  1. Link back to the person who gave you the award and Thank Them.
  2. Post the award to your blog.
  3. Give the award to 5 bloggers, with less than 200 followers, that you appreciate and value.
  4. Leave a comment on the 5 blogs to let them know that they have been offered the award.

Now . . .to do some thinking . . . who do I follow that I admire and inspire me.

Cat@ By Hook This past year she has had her plate so much more than full yet her tenderness, love of life and smile still kept going. She let me know that no matter what, we are who we are and if we are true to ourselves we will go on.

teri @ pear tree gallery ~art by teri . . . I have known Teri since high school but our friendship started when I moved next door to her the 1st year I taught back home in Logan . . . my science/math classroom next door to her art room. Her watercolors have always moved me, and her friendship has always been held close to my heart. If you want to see some BEAUTIFUL watercolors, take a gander down her blog's right side . . .  delicious!

Marlene @ Poppy Patchwork . . . hum, another cross stitcher goddess. . . she is the goddess of hearts, soft samplers and now Tribal designs. Know what, I have NO IDEA How I met Marlene but I am glad I did. She is in the hospital again, well, she should be out by now . . . but the way she keeps her gardens and stitching going really impress me. I so admire people who have gardens that look like I could just sit in them and crochet

Lessie @ Wool and Walking the Apennines . . . she is a knitter of shawls, socks, sweaters and I think I saw 1 skirt until she frogged it. In my next life I want to be able to knit like she knits . . . her choices or yarn and patterns are perfect.

Becky @ The Redman Thread . . . Becky is a former student. I have known her momma since I was in high school and was lucky to have spent most of my teaching career with Janet. Becky and her husband, Kenny, are in the "waiting" stage for a momma who wants them to adopt her baby. They will be such great parents . . . I admire her determination to go through everything they have had to go through to get to this place in the adoption process. I can't wait to see what her family will "grow up" to be.
