Easy and Lighter Black Forest Cake

Believe me, this is easier and lighter than any Black Forest Cake I have ever tasted.

Ingredients:

21 oz Can Lite Cherry Pie Filling
16.5 oz bag Frozen Dark Sweet Cherries (pitted)
1 Devil's Food Cake Mix
1 C Pecans (chopped)
3/4 C Margarine or Butter, cut into  pieces

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
2. Spray 9" x 13" baking dish with cooking spray.
3. Dump cherry pie filling into dish and spread evenly.
4. Dump Sweet Cherries and spread evenly . . include any juices.
5. Sprinkle cake mix over the top, DO NOT STIR.
6. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
7. Dot top evenly with butter/margarine pieces.
8. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes,
9. Remove  and cool before serving. This allows the juices to "settle down."

Serving Size: 12 pieces

As the cake cooks, the juices bubble up around the sides of the cake.
The cake has to cool some so the juices "settle down."

TIP/HINT
You may use your favorite nuts . . we just happened to have pecans handy.

Serve with whipped topping or ice cream.
