I See Grass

Last time I saw grass in our front yard had to be the beginning of February. I could swear it has been hidden since December . . . it seems so long ago.

This is what our front yard looks like now. (Along with Indy's butt and the husband unloading groceries from the car.)

This is what it looked like on 15 Feb . . . almost a month of snow drifts.

Now we have the ugly black/grey from the salt the snow pows threw up on the drifts showing. This is probably the worst part of snow . . . melting snow showing the ugly stuff that has been plowed up.

BUT, I did see some grass today . . .

I know . . . not a lot, and it is brown and muddy, but it is grass . . . Can Spring Be Far Behind?

I'm trying to figure out where the little circle of grass was caused by . . . looks like a volcano exploded and this is the caldera (I think that's what it is called) left over when the inside blows.

Now, time to start back on the crochet. I have made 5 pair of fingerless gloves, four ripple scarves and now I am working on two sunhats for a friend's grand babies. Keeps me busy, but also gives me some spending money for more yarn. Pretty good deal when I don't have anything else to do with my time :)

  1. Glad to see it is going, and I agree it is the messy stage. Remember spring brings gardening, hope your revamped plot from last year shows itself again soon.
