On The Road Again

The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

- Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll

Monday is the day we get serious about moving . . . the moving company comes and packs whatever we haven't boxed yet, packed. Then they will make arrangements to come back and load everything and off we will be to Indiana.

Honestly, I wasn't nervous until this morning. I have been doing a little everyday . . . cleaned out and boxed the Hoosier Cabinet yesterday and decided the kennel we are taking the cats in needs to be the smaller one, not the larger one I had placed in the van.

Now, there is actually room for a pillow for Indy, Poor thing, normally sleeps on one of the seats in the back and they are all in the garage so we can take the necessities, left over fridge food, 2 hanging plants, 2 smaller plants and 2 plants in large pots that survived last winter on the patio, "important papers," cat and dog food AND clothes and "necessities from the vanity and medicine cabinet" with us.

Seem like 10 years ago, when we moved here, it was easier. Probably because I had just sold the house, retired and moved all within a month. No time to think about anything I needed to do or didn't get done.

Not sure when we will get internet set up after the move so it may be a while before you see any posts from me.

Take care and, as the DJ's of the 60's used to say, "See you on the flip side."

  2. Be safe and don't overdo! If you happen to go past I77 southbound...give a wave! Remember you are paying them...make 'me work for their money. Can't wait to hear you are settled!
