Campfire #10 . . .9" Square

It's been a while
since I have posted a pattern.
 I just finished this one today.
and like the fact that is is a granny with a twist.

The pattern is written for one color.
Play with it and when you are done,
email me your pictures so I can post them.

Abbreviations



ch - chain                        sc – single crochet         sp - space


dc – double crochet       sl st – slip stitch






Make a Magic Circle:

Round 1: Ch 2, 2dc into the magic circle, Ch 2, *3 dc into circle, ch 2* 3 times, sl st to ch 2 sp. (12 dc)


Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc ch 2, 3 dc in same sp, ch 1(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1) in next sp 3 times, sl st to 2nd ch of beginning ch 2, sl st to ch 2 sp. (24 dc)


Round 3: Ch 2, 2 dc ch 2, 3 dc in same sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next sp, in corner *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) ch 1, 3 dc in next sp ch 1,* repeat from * to *, sl st to the 2nd ch of beginning ch 2, sl st to ch 2 sp. (36 dc)

Round 4: Ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in same sp, ch 1, *3 dc in next sp ch 1* repeat * to * to corner, [in corner (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc), *3 dc in next sp ch 1* repeat * to * to corner.] repeat from [ to ] to beginning, sl st to 2nd ch of beginning ch 2, sl st to corner sp.

Rounds 5 & 6: Ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in same sp, ch 1, *3 dc in next sp ch 1* repeat * to * to corner, [in corner (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc), *3 dc in next sp ch 1* repeat * to * to corner.] repeat from [ to ] to beginning, sl st to 2nd ch of beginning ch 2, sl st to corner sp.

If you want a square larger than 9” x 9”, repeat round 4 until your square is 1 ¼” -> 1 ½” smaller than your final dimensions.

Last 4 Rounds:

Round 7: Ch 1, scsp, sc in each sp across, *3 sc in corner sp, sc across,* repeat from * to * across, sl st to beginning ch 1, sl st to 2nc sc.

Round 8: Ch 2, in same sp (sc in same sp, ch 2, 2 sc,) *ch 1, sk 1, dc in next sc,* [repeat from * to *, in corner (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), *ch 1, sk 1, dc in next sc,*] continue around, sl st to 2nd ch of beginning ch 2, sl st to corner sp.

Round 9: Repeat Round 7.

Round 10: Ch 2, dc in same sp, ch 2, 2 dc in same sp, dc in each sp to next corner, *(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp, dc in each sc to next corner,* repeat from * to * to corner, sl st to 2nd ch of beginning ch 2. Fasten Off. Weave in Ends.






If needed, repeat Round 7 and/or Round 10 to reach the dimensions you prefer.
