YUCKY in WESTERN NEW YORK!

Today was really a "butt ugly" day here in Western New York. The day started out overcast and got more-so as the day went on. . . gray and dismal . . . and then, to top it ALL OFF the Bills game was blacked out and they WON. We listened to it on the radio . . . I would prefer different announcers, but you listen to what is available.

It took me the whole game to finish 1 and 1/2 sock monkeys . . . for some reason these two sock monkeys took forever and I already had 2 arms, 1 leg, the muzzle and ears made ahead of time. I still have 4 to go . .  sure hope they go faster. I really like them, but only when they make up quickly.

Have I posted my "Buffalo snow" wine bag yet? I don't think so. I must get that done some time this week. It turned out so cute . . . and different.  I have finished 3 wine bags and have 2 more, i think, to make. I think the next one will be in off white/ecru again. I really like the looks of that yarn.

For now, I will sign myself as,
YUCKY in WESTERN NEW YORK!

  1. we only got 1 inch or so here in my part of Ohio. The blowing has started. Yuck - I agree. Love the snow but my cold hampers my enthusiasm.

  2. In KY first we got rain, then it froze, then we got snow. So now we have snow with a lovely sheet of ice under it. Is it spring yet? I hope you take pics of the sock monkeys, I think they are always so cute. And the Buffalo Snow wine bag sounds interesting. Try to stay warm. :)

  3. I had the weather channel on most of the day yesterday and didn't even go anywhere. It is arctic cold here today. Hope the snow stays south of you...it didn't look good on the weather channel. xoxo

  4. Hi Paula! First, I loved your story about the dog and the nativity!! That was really cute!!.. I don't know how much snow you got, but over here on the eastern side of NY we haven't got anything accumulated yet... Just a lot of flurries, and daytime temps only in the teens! OUCH!.. It's a very good time for Christmas cookie baking!!! ~tina

  5. I can't wait to see the sock monkeys finished. I wanted to tell you; the other morning I asked my 8 yr old what he wanted for breakfast: "Cereal?" (no) "Oatmal?" (no) "Pancakes?" (no) "Scrabble?" "Huh?" It was so funny, you should have saw the look on his face... (I hadn't made any yet, but I showed him the recipe I printed out..) :P
