Aunt Ruth

Aunt Ruth died yesterday afternoon. She was my last surviving relative older than my generation. Now, it's Lee, Marilyn, Debbie and I as the oldest generation in the Gaumer Family.

I have to go to her funeral . . if not, I would never forgive myself. The problem is arranging how. I know I could fly, but that is way to expensive . . plus, I can't get to whee I want to go without a connecting flight. So, right now it looks like I'll be taking the train from Buffalo to South Bend . . I've ridden it back home before, but never there . . nice night trip . . will sleep most ofway. Then, in South Bend I'll cab it to their airport where the South Shore commuter train is located. Take it to whichever stop Marilyn tells me to to use.

Coming back, depends on what Marilyn says about the funeral arrangements. But I'll probably leave directly from South Bend. If not, South Shore it to South Bend and then leave.

Yesterday Marilyn was thinking about the funeral as being on Monday, so I would leave here Sat or Sun and then come home Monday . . . but, like I said, all depends on what I hear from her and what I find out from Lauren. Then, I'll make my arrangements.

Last Gaumer Family picture taken at our wedding in 2003 . . . and, of course, Marilyn is talking :0}
Like the husband said, this is the worse part of living away from family . . . getting back for funerals :0{

  4. Hugs to you and your family, Aunt Ruth sounds as if she will be missed, I too live away from the family, but remember the joy of seeing sibling, even on such a sad time.
