Coasters

Rnd 1: Using a Magic Circle (pictorial instructions found here), ch 1, make 8 sc into the circle, and sl st to beginning ch 1 to join.

Rnd 2: Sc in same st as joining st, then  place  2 sc in each  st around, sl st to beginning ch 1 to join, ch 1.

Rnd 3:  Sc  in same st as joining st, then  place  1 sc in  following st, * 2 sc in the next st followed by 1 sc in the next st,* repeat from * to * around, sl st to beginning ch 1 to join, ch 1.

Rnd 4: Sc  in same st as joining st, then  place  1 sc in  following  2 sts, * 2 sc in the next st followed by 1 sc in the next 2 sts,* repeat from * to * around, sl st to beginning ch 1 to join, ch 1.

Rnd 5: Sl st into each st around. Fasten Off and weave in ends.

Basket

Rounds 1 – 4: Repeat Rounds 1 – 4 of the coaster.

Rnd 5: Sc  in same st as joining st, then  place  1 sc in  following  3 sts, * 2 sc in the next st followed by 1 sc in the next 3 sts,* repeat from * to * around, sl st to beginning ch 1 to join, ch 1.

Rnd 6: Sc in the back loop of each st around, sl st to beginning ch 1 to join ch 1.

Rnd 7: Sc in same st, ch 1, sk 1,* sc in next st, ch 1, sk 1,* repeat from * to * around DO NOT JOIN.

Note: You will NOT be joining at the end of the round, you will continue your pattern until you have a basket tall enough to hold your coasters

Repeat Rnd 5 of coasters to finish off your basket.
