Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The MOG (Medically Oriented Gym) that the husband and I go to three times a week for cardio and strength training, is having a "Bra Decorating" Contest to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. It costs $5 to enter, so I decided to do it and then had a hard idea coming up with a design.

I started thinking about Candy Corn arranged in a sun burst and then the husband said, "How about one of those pumpkins that comes in Brach's Fall Mix for the center."

B-I-N-G-O ! ! ! ! ! An idea was born.

Here is the progress so far . . . .

My areolas aren't perfect . . . and which ones of us have perfect ones anyway?

I  used Gorilla Glue in the hopes it would hold the candy. It took a while, but you can see that most of it held. I took one of the inner "corn"  off because it was way too crooked . . . TOO far off for even abnormal . . . LOLOL

I  have rubber mice "walking" down the back of the straps and across the back. I'm going to whip-stitch bats on the front straps.

I need to add more candy . . . I bought several different brands of Halloween Candy so I'm not sure what I'll use for the rest of the bra.

Oh, I also found, at the Dollar Store, a garland with 4 plastic, old looking skeletons on it. I think I will add them around the bottom . . . but, again, I'm not sure.

Will post final pictures when it is done.

  1. I love it, can't wait to see the finished item...we have moon walks here, where ladies walk through cities at night wearing decorated bras on top of their clothes, all for breast cancer awareness, they raise millions.

  2. Hee-hee-hee! "Your areolas aren't perfect" cracked me up. I'd see if mine are, but I don't want to take off my shoes. Hahahaha! I heard a version of that joke from Joan Rivers a few days ago.

You know what I've been thinking about and craving lately? Those peppermint cookies you gave the recipe for last year. I can't wait to make them again. I'm trying to hold off until close to Christmas. YUM.
