Pecan Balls

New Recipe for Christmas 2017.
It's a KEEPER!

Ingredients:
1/2 C (1 stick) Unsalted Butter (softened)
2 T Granulated Sugar
1 C All Purpose Flour
1 Heaping Cup Pecans (chopped)
1/4 tsp Salt
optional ingredients:
1/2 C Semisweet Chocolate chips melted to drizzle on top
Roll in Cinnamon Sugar immediately after removing from oven.
(We did the Cinnamon Sugar.)

  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.
  2. Cream together the butter, sugar and flour with a hand or stand mixture.
  3. Fold in pecans and salt; stir until combined.(It may be a little crumbly. When you roll the dough in your warm hands you get great balls).
  4.  Roll dough into small balls (approx 1/2" across) and place on an ungreased baking sheet. (If dough sticks to hands wet hands.)
  5. Bake at 274 degrees F for 45 minutes.

If rolling in Cinnamon Sugar:

  • do that immediately after removing from the oven.
  • let cool on baking sheet before transferring to an airtight container.

If using Chocolate Drizzle.

  • Place chocolate chips in microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave for 1 minute.
  • Stir and microwave, at 30 second intervals, until chocolate is melted and can be stirred together.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over balls or dip in sauce.
  • Allow to cool before transferring to an airtight container.

The temp is 275 degree F and the time is 45 minutes. Your balls will remain the size you originally made while cooking.

You should get 22 balls from this recipe. (We doubled the recipe and instead of 44 balls we got 48.)
