Sweet Yarnie Woman

I needed to go
on a
YARN EXCURSION
today.
Even though I have a box 14" x 14" x 14" (+/-) full of Vanna's Choice yarn
I still needed
5 or 6 more colors.

As I was sitting on the sofa,
waiting for Gene to come upstairs
this song flashed through my head . . . . .
Only with "yarnie"
(no, NOT "carnie")
lyrics.

So,
with apologies
to the Stampeders
and their
Sweet City Woman
I give you

~*~*
Sweet City Yarnie *~*

Well, I'm on my way, to the yarnie life
To a pretty skein that shines it's light on my boring nights

And I gotta catch a quick ride
Gotta be there on time
Oh, it feels so good to know it waits at the end of the drive

Swee
-ee-eet, sweet city yarn store
I can see your skeins,
I can hear their voices,
I can almost touch them.

Swee
-ee-eet, sweet city yarn store
Oh, my banjo and me, we got a feel for singin', yeah, yeah,

Bon c'est bon, bon bon c'est bon, bon,
Bon c'est bon, bon, bon, bon, bon
Bon c'est, bon, bon bon ci'estbon, bon,
Bon c'est bon, bon, bon, bon, bon
So long ma,
so long pa,
so long
Neighbors and friends

Like a country afghan, all snugly and new
Ah it's got a way
to make a yarnie feel shiny and new

And it sings in the evenin',
it's old familiar tunes
And it tells me
to crochet lots more
and eat macaroons

Swee-ee-eet, sweet city yarn store
I can see your skeins,
I can hear their voices,
I can almost touch them.
Swee-ee-eet, sweet city yarn store
Oh, my banjo and me, we got a feel for singin'

[Instrumental break]

Da da da da da da ...

Swee-ee-eet, sweet city yarn store (oh, she's my)
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet yarn store.

Swee-ee-eet, sweet city yarn store (whoa my)
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet city yarn store (everybody)
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet city yarn store (ba da da da, ba da da da)
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet city yarn store (ba da da da, ba da da da)
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet city yarn store(ba da da da, ba da da da)
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet city yarn store (ba da da da, ba da da da)

[Repeat And Fade]
Signed,
Too Much Yarn . . . . Too Little Time

  1. ROFL! I love it! Matter of fact, today I opened up my Vanna's Choice Misty in Denium and I just love it! I need to get 3 more for the shawl I am making for my daughter for Mother's day and 3 more of the Green Misty as well as 2 more of the Purple Misty and see if I can find a Red or Cherry Misty for my mom's shawl!
