Cutie Pie Flower Square

I just finished a potholder from a square I tested for Donna (Smooth Fox). I had tested quite a few for her and then I fell so behind I felt guilty, so this is my 1st test in quite a while.

This is the square. Doesn' it just scream, "I want to be the center of a potholder?"

Yeah, I hear your answer, "It sure screams that to me!"

Well, I listened to the scream and came up with this as the finished potholder. The back is a nrmal Granny Sqaure. I made it after I finished the original square . . I wanted to make sure the finished potholder was a size I wanted.  Once that was done, I went back to the original square and added a cream round of (sc, sk 1, ch 1) repeats with 3 sc in each corner . . . and ended with a (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each corner and a (dc, ch 1, sk 1) on the sides.

I single crocheted them together, with 3 sc in each corner. For the holding loop I did a ch 15, sc in each ch to the base, in the 2nd sc of one corner. Then sl st the end of the ch to the base and continued with the 3rd sc in the corner and then went back to whatI had been doing to connect the two sides.

I am very happy with the way it turned out.
