Cat's Sweater and Indy's Christmas Goose

Cat, at By Hook, has a sweater pattern she wants tested . . . so, of course, I said, "Yes." I received some Bernat Handicrafter Cotton, in Tangerine, that I received in a swap from Nancy "knitr54" in an Itsy Bites Swap and Chat on Ravelry. She knows I'm a Hunter Orange person and this is pretty close to that color so it is one of my favorites. SO, Tangerine it is, with an F/5 - 3.75MM hook,

The pattern has the bodice, I guess it is a bodice on a sweater, posted. I have it done . . . and here is the grand reveal . . . LOLOL

The neck opening looks a little small, but, then again, never having had kids, who am I to say . . will have to tell Cat I posted it so she can see what I have.

Have I ever told you how Indy LOVES to go to bed at night? All day, the cats go up and down the stairs on their own AND when Indy chases them upstairs. But, in the 6 years we have had her, I'll bet I can count on my hand the number of times she has gone upstairs on her own without us.

Last week, things changed. For some reason, totally unknown to us, she had anxiety attacks Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Most were in the evening, but Fridays was in the morning. Since this happens when we have a thunder storm, I have pills for her. But, we had perfect weather so I didn't have an opportunity to give them to her early, we had a shaking, "leaking" (that's what I call it when she pants) 75 pound dog, lying on my lap for about an hour each time.

This leads me to the upstairs, when she would come in from her "potty" breaks each of these days, she immediately headed up the stairs . . so strange, but she seemed to think it was the thing to do.

Now, at night, she knows that when I turn off the floor lamp next to where I sit, it's bedtime and she will head upstairs. Last night, we didn't go up right away so the husband calls her, no Indy came down. I started calling her and she finally comes downstairs carrying her Christmas Goose, which is really a stuffed mallard with a Santa hat but Christmas Goose sounds so much funnier, in her mouth. She looks so funny when she carries one of her stuffed toys like this. I decided that now was the time to get a picture of this.

I took the camera upstairs and she would have no part of holding the goose.

Don't you love the look, "Jeez Mom. Why would I want to hold this thing in my mouth?"

"No Mom. I don't care if you throw it at  me, I'm not going to catch it in my mouth, like normal and look cute. No matter what you do, or how many times you do it, I'm not going to pose for you."

I put the camera up, turned off the light and climbed into bed. Then, I hear her "mouthing" her goose. I get out of bed, turn on the camera, didn't turn any light on, pointed the camera in the general vicinity of where I thought she was and shot. B*I*N*G*O ! ! !

Indy with her Christmas Goose. She loved her soft toys . . . guess she likes the way they feel in her mouth.

  2. Hey, that looks PERFECT! Holy Cow, you are fast! I was thinking you were going to take a week or two. :o) Yay for Paula~ Love the Christmas Goose, too.

Count the stitches and tell me how many you have if you are finished with the bodice. Need to see what we can fit in there! ;o) I'm doing a crazy stitch on one and want to try a different stitch on the second one.

  3. Jetta does that, too. As soon as I get the camera out, forget it. You got a good shot. :) Can't wait to see the sweater finished.
