I found it interesting that in the photo, some of the squares look like they are spiral grannies of 2 different yarns |
This is a "Join - As - You - Go" Granny Square blanket. I have included a photo and written tutorial to show this method.
I used 8 colors of Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Yarn (#5 Bulkky) for this blanket. I would have used more, but these were the only colors available when I started the blanket. I have, however, included a chart where you can list 40 different colors for your blanket.
My blanket has 56 squares, a combination of 4 and 8 round Granny Squares. Along with an 8 round edging, the finished size is 58" x 58" (4.5' x 4.5'). If you would prefer a larger blanket, I have included a chart showing the placement for a 56 square blanket and then extended it to an 85 square blanket which, when finished, will be 7' square (+/-) before it is edged.
Before I finished the last round of grannies. |
***100% of the purchase price for the pattern goes to Natalie's 2nd Chance Shelter, a no-kill dog shelter in my home state of Indiana. It is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization***
